Well, I haven't been on in a while but I did get my 2001 disco 2 refreshed quite a bit so far. Here is the list I have been able to accomplish thanks to this forum and its members:
- Intake heater
- Head gaskets
- Complete tune-up (plugs, wires, coilpacks, fluids, filters, etc)
- Steering Pump
- Alternator
-O2 sensors/Cats
- Front cover, timing chain, gears
- Radiator
- Hose kit
- Cleaning/maintenance on Sec air
- Rotors/Hubs/bearings/new lugs
- Headliner modification
- custom radio bracketing with backup camera and side cameras, full 360 degree sensorsets
- Custom camera record switch
- 2003 facelift with grill (I used a unique ziptie method, 35 minute facelift, so awesome!)
-Custom Saudi grille
- Heater core w/mod to bracket for a new 1hr max install time on heater cores now
With all the hard stuff out of the way, my next projects this year are:
- 3 or 4" lift kit
- Headliner changeout to roll-in bedliner
- Power door/window locks as necessary
- New steel bumpers front back
- New exhaust/headers
- Random 4x4 shiz
That is it. This thing will be 100% refeshed and daily maintained after that. The engine is a 4.0, it is strong and very clean it seems.
Before - stripped out Post Headgasket -- My local guy has a great shoppe, took great care of my heads for me. Final product phase 1 Current look. We are about to start phase 2, where most of these exterior changes will show.
Luckily, an older mom owned this Rover before me, the interior is just about perfect.
More pics of the saudi grille. Also, I hope you're not actually using a K&N filter in there
I've been running one for about 30k miles, no issues. BUT I am planning on going back to the paper filter just because of all the negative feedback the K&N gets on Land Rover applications. It's on the list. I don't over oil mine though either, so....
