Default Upper taillight Replacement

I have 04’ Disco 2 se7 and my lens are cracked. I found 00’ taillights for sale cheap and want to know if they will fit and work properly. Since my bumper lights work fine will they function the same up top? Will it appear that my reverse lights are on if I just plug and play? I do not have the luxury of running new wires.

The 03/04 have different layouts than the other D2s.
They are less well made and almost all of the are cracked, especially the driver's side. Replacing them is expensive, the easiest method is to simply remove the housing and drill a drain hole on the bottom, your lights will operate fine.
My driver's side Mas literally filled to the top with water, and I didn't even notice till doing some work on the light guards I have. Lights all worked fully submerged and it could have been years.
I take off the guards every five years or so and fix any rust and recoat.

Thank you! I will try that! Much better than 500$ to replace just 1. Definitely worth giving it a shot.
