Default $25 ebay D2 key fobs with electronics

Need a second fob for my rover, surprised to see these ones pop up on ebay for this price.

Anybody given one of these key fobs a try? Wonder if they are programmable to actually work properly.

I don’t think just any fob will work, but you programme your BCM (with Nanocom or equivalent) to accept the fob, not the fob. My D2 had no matched fob when I got it, but I got 2 used D2 fobs from a wrecker and programmed the BCM for them to work. They both work great.

They're probably the wrong MHz for US vehicles. I know I've read a lot of threads where people haven't been able to use the remotes that they have bought online.

Default 315 Mhz

Ads seem careful to mention 315 MHz and have a bar code tab in the pic. I'll be the one to fall for it, ordered one this morning, figured just the key blank and fob cover may cover my losses. Laughed at how they are stamped Valeo on the back and have Land Rover on the key button - seriously? These people won't cheat me lol

I had one of these cheapies off ebay, didn't program to BCU w/nanocom....

kept the case and put in old OEM board which programmed up no issues...

Make sure you can return it. Some sellers make you to ship them back to a foreign country, which you have to pay upfront and is prohibitively expensive. You can verify with a cheap ham radio, if it's the right frequency,

Yep. I got one of them for my '99 truck. Worked perfectly.

I would order over a friend only, who does not live close by.
