Unhappy Urgent: Hole in bottom of bell housing

I am going off roading tonight, and i remembered i have a hole in the bottom of my bell housing. It is circular with screw holes in it. I dont know if it is supposed to be covered or not, it would be great for some help, thanks.

That is a inspection hole, yes its supposed to be covered, not it does not have to be, yes dirt will get in there, no it wont hurt anything, make a cover for it when you get a chance out of a soup can bottom and find some screws to screw it in place.
