Default Disco Mike or others with help on bell housing bolts

I am in the process of dropping my transmission and I've run into a problem. The top 3 or 4 bolts in the bell housing seems to be impossible for me to remove. I can barely even find them with my hand and if I am able to get a tool to reach it then I don't have room to use the tool to remove them. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with removing these bolts? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Andy just replaced the engine on his DII and said that those bolts were impossible to reach but he got them, even harder to re-install.
Look him up and send him a PM and maybe he can help.

You mention a "tool" that you are using. What is this tool?

You need a socket, u-joint, 30 inch extension and a ratchet or an air gun.

That will take care of the upper bell housing bolts.

They are a little tight yes but doable. I used a shorty 9/16 closed end wrench to get them off on my RR, I also needed it to face with the swing towards me and had a lot of grunt to get them to move.

Thanks you guys for all your help. I woke up fresh this morning and attempted it with the u-joint adapters and extensions. For a couple of them I used two adapters which makes it awkward but yes doable. One smashed pinkie and a ratchet to the forehead later I have them off, haha, thanks everyone.

sorry to be sarcastic, but if you can't get the bolts out, you might have some problems on the rest of your project. Yes, they are a pain in the ***. Sleep on it. It will only take ten minutes tomorrow. Things always work that way when they are frustrating.
