Using factory Fog circuit for Hella Rally 4000 100Watt
Hey guys,
I am looking to hook up my Hella 4000 rally lights using the factory wiring from the post face lift factory fog lamps. I no longer have the factory fog lamps as I have replaced my bumper with the pre facelift arb bumper.
My question is, will the factory wiring relay and fuse handle the the current draw of the 100W lights or will it be too much and blow fuses and relays. I am rather excited to do it this way as I found out that in a previous thread that you can order the female connector right off ebay to hook in the factory wiring. If the factory circuit cant handle it I will simply have to add a relay to be triggered by the factory fog circuit.

I know what your going to say next, "the fog light circuit doesn't work when the high beams are on"... I have a Lynx programer/diagnostic system on order, this will permit me to re-program the bcm accordingly.
Thoughts?

The front fog lamp connectors on your facelift D2's main harness, are this type, which are an AMP/TE female H11 bulb connector -

To connect to them, you will need a mating male connector.
AMP/TE don't make a male connector in this series - but, our good friends in China do make one
They're available from various sellers on eBay, here's the one I linked to in the other thread -
2X H8 H9 H11 880 Male Connectors Connector HID Free Ships from USA | eBay

The factory wiring for the D2's front fog lamps, is in 1.5mm² cable, which is rated at 20A.
2 x 100W lamps will draw 16.66A @ 12V - so, the factory wiring will be OK.
You will need to change F3 in the engine compartment fuse box from 15A to 20A.
