Default Vacuum and idle question.

My 2000 is Idling around 800-900 RPMS. Keep in mind, I did the head gaskets just a couple weeks ago...

The reason I say that is I'm wondering if I have a vacuum leak. I can hear what sounds like a sucking sound at the top, front of the engine on the pass side. Like behind the alternator and under the plenum. I sprayed the area around the sound with brake cleaner and when I sprayed enough, Kind of right in the area of the I'm talking about the engine did shudder and run harder for a second.

Since I'm not totally up on this setup, what vacuum lines if any are under there? I'm guessing I didn't get a good enough seal with the plenum itself when I put it back on and am looking at removing it and replacing the gasket along with a little red sealer to be on the safe side?

On the right track?

On the right track. But maybe use carb cleaner. You can also cram an oil filter or other sized can in the air intake hose, and the vac leak will squeal very loud.

There are no lines under the manifold, sounds like you may need to remove the top manifold and even inspect the lower for leaks.
