Yes I did per say.. technically it was my parents truck as I wasn't old enough to buy a new car then. He optioned it out pretty well, I still have the window sticker new from 2002. Premium audio, SE package, trailer package, etc. It was his second D2, first was a Kinversand 99'

I did all maintenance on it with my father to learn the basics . I bought the TD5 thermostat as it was called then from the dealer, and BMW coolant was something I had for my own 2005 Range Rover. It had probably 15,000 miles back in 2010~. My father is 67 now and drives even less than he did then.

So say it got new coolant and low temp in 2010, and driven to 200k miles in that period.

I drive 50-60k miles a year to Chicago and back...every day

its awful

Hayden HD fan clutch, Brass propeller water pump, inline 180 thermostat mod, fresh radiator, probably won't ever have an issue

I did all those and I also replaced my heater core when it failed. Was running 183-184 pretty much permanently in NC summers.

I didn't see great results in lowering temps (194-199) until I finally got the system bled really well. Now, with just the oem 180* tstat, airtex water pump, new radiator & hoses I'm consistently running 179-183 with occasional creeps to 188* in severe traffic situations.
