The belt seems fine. I'll triple check it though. Is the tensioner suppose to move a bit when the engine revs up? I assume it does to take up the slack but it can't hurt to ask. Maybe it's letting go at random times.
Not sure about the water pump. Max it's 129k old, but it may have been replaced with the hg job that was done maybe 2k/mi ago. I'll look at it and try to see if it was done or not.
I too was wondering about this vacuum leak. I thought maybe at random times it'll lean out the mixture and that would explain the randomness in the overheats. On the other hand I'd be astonished if it was running that lean!

I dont think the tensioner is supposed to move when you rev the engine, it is just supposed to keep the belt tight as it wears out.
But maybe it is supposed to move alittle when there is a sudden change in the belt load.
I would think that if it was leaning out that much that you would have some power issues.
