Default Vibration between 45 and 70

I have an 04 Disco that has a vibration which started a few weeks ago. I quit driving it right away. At first I thought it felt like the tires were out of balance, so I had them rotated and balanced. Problem still persisted. I decided to replace the front drive shaft as I have 114,000 miles on it. Took it off and found that one of the weights appears to have fallen off. I thought that was likely my issue. Replaced it tonight and about 2/3rds of my vibration has went away but it still is there. Not sure if the rear drive shaft has ever been replaced. Any ideas as to what the issue could be?

Did you replace the front shaft, or just fix the balance weight? The stock front shaft does not have enough grease fittings, and when it comes apart, at speed, it will poke a big hole in transmission. Write up in our tech area for rebuilding the shaft with greasable joints. There is also the flex coupler at the rear, which can crack...

I replaced the entire unit with one from Toddco which has the greasable joints. My old one only had the front joint which was greasable.

Do you have to rebalance the rear drive shaft if you replace the flex coupler? I have a new coupler laying around which I never installed.

off course mark any bolts and position of parts removed so they can go back in same place.

Well it fixed it by replacing the flex coupler! She drives nice and smooth.

BTW, did they come with a greasable ujoint on the rear shaft? Also my front shaft had a greasable joint in the front but not for the rear two. Was this a factory deal or did someone replace it?

How do you remove that collar seal/bearing type piece in the end of the driveshaft that slips over the shaft coming out of the rear differential?

Here is a page from shop manual that shows two grease fittings on rear shaft. Your front shaft needs fittings on the two that are missing, tech write up in our tech section. It will split and poke hole in tranny. That funky piece has a page for it as well, comes off with a slide hammer of sorts.

My Todcoo one has grease fittings on all the joints. I am just trying to figure out if someone replaced a couple ujoints in the past since the rear driveshaft had a greasable ujoint and the original front shaft had the front ujoint greasable while the back two were sealed.
