Default VW G12 coolant made by Pentosin

so i bought some G12 coolant today from the VW dealership to put into the D2 while i get around to replacing the water pump. got some prestone coolant flush at walmart as well. haven't drained the coolant yet, but plan to use the flush to clean out the Supertech 50/50 that's in the D2 now.

I then stumbled across this online tonight.

Pentosin - Antifreeze

look at the bottle on the right of the page with the red top G12
(says Land Rover Freelander, discovery, and defender 1998 and up)

so i should be good to use the 1 gallon bottle of G12 i purchased at VW today in my1999 D2 correct?

i already use this stuff in my 2000 Jetta, so would be great to stock just one type of coolant is all.

Pentosin brand? I think I use this for my power steering. They are a bit expensive, right? I have been using the green 50/50 Peak Antifreeze and it dsos not solidify too much unlike the Dexcool. Its for all makes and brands. So its your choice. Let us know if it can cut few degrees of temp in a rover. That will be great. Tks

Pentosin makes manufacture spec products, so most likely the one you referring to is similar to dexcool, even though it's what Land Rover calls for most ppl avoid it because it forms crystals if there is any air pockets in cooling system due to occasional leaks, use regular green coolant,
that's what most of us use instead on Land Rover spec dexcool.

Pentosin SF, which is now called Pentofrost SF, is in fact the same as VW g12. It's what I use in my 04 Disco and two Audi's. It's a great coolant. Just be sure to flush the old coolant thoroughly before filling. Cheers!

Im not sure really if this is an actual result of DexCool or just needed regular maintenance. Check the link below some images
Dexcool Pictures

Actually, if you search for the best coolant, Dex cool is within top 3. But if you are looking for the best coolant there are coolants that
can lower your temperature 10 to 15 degrees. These are more expensive alternative. I would like to try them but my disco leaks all the
time. It use to leak so bad that I have gallons of antifreeze on my roof rack. But not anymore, I settled with just drops. Cheers!
