Wading
Just an FYI to all. Last night we had pretty widespread flooding in Tulsa last night. I was trying to get home and stopped to help several people out of water. 13 to be exact, including 2 cops. Both officers had parked on the edge of water coving intersections and the water surged, stalling their cars. The Disco did great. I have it in my shop with bricks under the carpet trying to dry it out now. I know I pushed it past what I should have last night, and I went into water much deeper than I should have, but she just would not stop.
I am not trying to tell people to go cross a river, but if you drive right, these trucks are amazing. I had to smilewhile passing a stalled H2. They went through too fast. Thank you Land Rover..

Just think... if it was a diesel with a raised intake... you'd be able to do this
Takes a while to get going, but well worth a watch.

Hmm... series III air portable as a daily driver - doubtful, unless he's done some conversion work to make it a little more user friendly. IIRC they're a 2.25 or 2.5 naturally aspirated diesel making approx 60 to 67hp and 100 to 110lbft of torque, mated to a 4 speed manual box through some very low diffs. Top speed would be around, lets be generous and say 60 mph, it will literally scream at those speeds - you'd need ear protection to drive it on a motorway/freeway.
Pity you 'dont get diesels' - one of the best there is originates there, the Cummins B series, 6 litre straight 6, makes a couple of hundred horses stock, but relatively easy to tune apparently. They're fitted to the Dodge Ram trucks. If you can lay your hands on one of them I'm sure you could make it fit a defender or a disco relatively easily and wow... what an engine.
Alternatively... you could send it to me... I'd be more than happy with one of them for if I break my 200 Tdi.
Did a little bit of fording month before last... Ali (blue defender 90) got a bit of it on video.
