Default Warning Lights

Hi Everyone

While driving home tonigh from work, the TC and ABS lights came on. When I got home I turned the truck off and re-started it a couple of minutes later and only the ABS light stayed on. What does this mean. Is the truck still drivable. How do I find out what is going on without having to bring it to the dealer.

Your help as always is greatly appreciate. I have an 02 DiscoII with 71k miles

search the three amigo's on here. Common problem. Usually a dirty wheel sensor. Have to get the codes read and cleared by someone with a Rover scanner. Write down the codes, and if they come back, you know where to start. If you take it to the dealer, they will probably want to replace the shuttle valve before clearing the codes, and then you are just out the money and still have the lights. Find a small Rover shop to read and clear them. Make sure they will clear them for you.

If the ABS light is still on, you don't have ABS. YOu can test this by braking hard on loose gravel and seeing if it just locks upor pulses. Drive carefully and allow romm for braking, as you probably don't have ABS. Get the codes looked at as soon as you can.

Also read your owners manual from cover to cover so you will be better prepared to handle stuff like this.
