Default Washer fluid wicking out of hood nozzle

Replaced drivers side washer nozzle this spring (w Genuine Rover part) as it was clogged.

Now noticing on hot days… the washer fluid is slowly wicking up out of that nozzle and drying on the hood.

Haven’t seen this before. Ideas?

1) just when I thought I knew all the leaks.....
2) on hot days, fluid expands...therefore the leak....but on one side only...strange....change fluid to something different?
3) are your hoses old and dried? (not expanding a bit like they used to?)
4) there is a back flow preventer valve, but that doesn't stop forward flow under pressure.....but if it's stuck open....?

Re #1. I know, right?

I’m wondering if the actual washer nozzles have a built in one way valve?

… Only the new one leaks. I opened the hood and squirted repeatedly down into the cowl. Pass … zero drops after squirting stops. Drivers… about 5 drops drip out. They then run down the hood and stain the hood blackout, which bakes in the sun etc etc etc.

small potatoes
just annoying

Maybe I’ll just buy another squirted nozzle and see if it fixes it.

Man I go through the back flow valves like they are going out of style for some reason, it's super annoying. If the tank isn't vented and it's heated then it will build pressure and push fluid through the pumps and through nozzles. Not sure how if it's the stock tank it would be sealed so well but I had that issue when I made my own in it's first iteration.
