Question Water Ingress to cab through B pillars

New to me 1999 Disco. Replaced windshield cowling. No sunroofs. Checked air conditioner condensation tubes. Suspension garage did me a favor and put ‘fire hose’ on her and said B pillars leaking on front door sides. Looking for guidance on 1) getting B pillar interior trim off. Don’t want to reef on them and bust them 2) any advice on taking off and replacing the seals. I’ve seen a few Youtube videos that say to buy LR authentic parts. Any videos out there on the process? I can’t find any but new to this adventure. Thanks much.

Here's the new windscreen cowling.

Are you sure it is the B and not the A pillars? The cowl replacement sounds like the A pillar. I have not heard of B pillars leaking. Its likely the seal between the roof and the body, the "caulk" they put in there cracks and leaks. If you pull down the rubber gasket that seals the windshield you should be able to fill that in with silicon. You dont need to remove the exterior A Pretty common fix. Thats my guess given no photos.

Thanks for your input but pretty sure it's the front door sides of the B Pillars. No photos to show because all I get is wet floors after a good rain. Any help on how to remove B Pillar inside trim so I can peel the seals off?

@Chiz Check under your front carpet 99% of wet carpets is windshield and the massive foam under the carpet hides a lot.

The other major problem is the roof rack seals, the roof racks are attached to the roof with through bolts if the seals leak the water ends up on the headliner then the floor

Both above takes are correct. The headliner is designed to route leaks from the roof to the b pillars, which will then put the water on the floor and will take an impossibly long time to dry out. B pillar trim is removed by first pulling the seals loose from from the door jambs and then you can see the small metal retainers. There is a push retainer at the top of the cover that pulls straight out from the pillar. Look at a photo of a cover ton ebay to understand how it is removed. https://www.ebay.com/itm/187386024805 If you are embarking on a leak hunt best to remove the headliner and drrive it that way for several weeks to make sure you have all the leaks. In my two dozen discos I have restored I have found roof rail leaks, windshield leaks, A pillar drip gutter sealant leaks and even a recent body seam leak. I recently had to remove drivers seat and front floor carpet for two weeks to find a leak in the body seam.

Good luck with the hunt.

Great help with the link to show the location of the clips. I think I can safely remove the trim now. I don’t have a rack on top and “fire hose” test would indicate leaks are from rain and coming through door seals but I’ll test the gutters to see if I’m getting water from there too. Thanks much for the advice. Cheers

In my experience there isn't a hose on the planet that puts enough water on the roof to find all the leaks the way a hard rain does

If you google, there is a TSB around the leak at the windshield gasket.
