If by stamped you mean "a big chunk of machined brass" then you're correct.

you only need the one wrench, it really isnt on there ***** tight. a lot of people say they can get it with channel locks but I couldnt get anything that thin to fit in there.
you can try autozone or advances i think they lone them you just hace to check the size.

I talked to my neighbor at lunch. He got his off his BMW with a large adjustable wrench. So we are gonna try to hit it with that versus me spending 45 bucks on that wrench. If the adjustable will not fit I will loan one from autozone, good call.

So which pump would you go with drow?

It's worth a try without the special wrenches, but if that doesn't work right away don't waste time or get frustrated...go get a 36mm fan clutch wrench.

A word of advice...don't waste your time with the 'loaner' fan clutch wrenches. I got sets from 3 different stores, and found that the 36mm wrench in every one of them was stretched to 37-39mm...just far enough to be useless. (Apparently, some Fords use 36mm too, so the loaner tools get lots of wear and tear.)

You should be able to walk in to your local auto parts store and pick up a 36mm fan clutch wrench for less than $25. With a fan clutch wrench that was actually 36mm, it took less than 5 minutes to get my fan clutch off. After wasting all the time trying different wrenches, then the junk 'loaner' tools not working either, the $25 was money well spent...

+1 on the fan clutch wrench. Just about every auto part store carry Ford Fan Clutch wrenches which are 36mm. I use a long screwdriver to hold it in place, but i've also just thrown a rag between the belt and the pulley to hold it.

Yes. All you really need is the 36mm.
