Yes, but you'll need a new pulley if you can't get the fan off.

It can be a bit of a pain but I have done it before. Like he said you will need a pulley to replace the one or cut it apart to get the pulley once it's out.

Have you tried getting the fan off by hitting the fan wrench with a hammer (in the right direction of course).

Is the belt still on? I think the belt should be on and hit the wrench with the mallet towards the left. It will be hard to remove the bolts.

Just buy, or rent a Fan Clutch Tool from Autozone to hold the water pump pulley in place.
And like magic the fan clutch comes off with very little effort. A Schley 61600 has always worked for me.

Default Wrench

The tool that Pep Boyz rents does not get good purchase. I will try the Autozone one or Advanced one this weekend. See if i get any luck.

I got the fan off the last Rover surprisingly easy, maybe i was just not ready for it. Need a bigger wrench i suppose.

A good 36MM Wrench, and proper support of the water pump pulley and you are quickly back to Happy Town!

If you can't get a "Rent-A-Tool"...NO B$, the Schley tool is well worth buying...you will use it often and it makes this repair painless. Good Luck!

Default It worked

After the BP plaster it came off surprisingly easily. ordered pump and some other parts from Lucky8, preventative maintenance. I want to make this rover bullet proof. It runs about 185 degrees, lower than any other rover I have had. The cooling system will be mostly brand new when I am done.
