I think that my truck is getting lower than usual MPGs but am still trying to determine what I am actually getting to the gallon.
Are there any maintenance or modifications that can improve gas mileage?

Sell the truck? 
Make sure tires run proper psi, don't add a lift ornbugger tires, check air filter and run new plugs(which I think you have). How many mpg are you currently getting or miles till your gas light comes on?
