Default Weird xyz switch issue

Hey ya'll!

So I had the flashing m&s lights so I took the switch apart, cleaned it, reassembled, and sealed with silicone caulk on the exterior seam. After reinstalling I have tried to align it and I get PRN but nothing in D,3,or 2(no light on the shifter or on the gauge cluster) but I do get a flashing D in 1 on both the shifter and the cluster(flashing in D position while in 1). Do I need a new switch or am I doing something wrong? This only started happening after I reinstalled the switch after cleaning. Did I break something?

I recently got a used XYZ switch because my rebuild did not work, but mine had significant rust on the switches. Maybe take it apart and make sure all the wires are pushed in properly if u moved them.

When you disassembled it did you add some kind of grease to the contacts?
Also like @CollieRover stated, recheck the internal wires are seated correctly.

Which of the two versions of the switch do you have: the earlier one with the cream-colored plastic cover or the later version with the black cover?

You should be able to test the switch after reassembly with it off the truck using a multimeter, but you'd need to carefully review the wiring diagram to confirm which pins should have continuity at each of the seven switch positions.

Maybe you got the rotating assembly positioned incorrectly inside the switch. Not 100% sure that is possible, but it is worth taking it apart and making sure you did not change the orientation. Maybe it could go in backwards, and still allow the stalk through, and with the rotating part in the correct orientation the YZ switches may not be engaged.
