So, my wife pulls into the driveway after work today leaving a trail of coolant and who knows what else. I see steam/smoke coming out from under the hood. "Oh no... This can't be good". She said as she turned into the neighborhood, she heard a loud noise and then the car got hard to drive (steer and brake). I pop the hood, smoke billows out. The belt is shredded to pieces and wrapped up around everything. Coolant is everywhere, due to overflow. Now, I have no idea what this is going to entail. Going to take it to the shop in the morning.

Grab the fan and try to wiggle it. If there is play in the shaft it's the water pump that has gone causing the belt to get shredded.

Well, got the truck to the shop late this morning. So, we're initially looking at replacing the a/c compressor. That's what seized up and basically exploded.We're going to start with that and then see what other damage was done. While he's at it, I'm going to have him try and determine where the oil leaks are coming from and why it's using a lot of coolant. My guess are the head gaskets, but I'm not 100% sure.

I had a whole other fiasco in getting to the shop to meet the tow truck driver there. Took my motorcycle to the shop so I could talk to the mechanic. About half way there, the saddlebag on the motorcycle decides to fall of the bike while I'm running down the interstate at 70 mph. It's completely demolished as 2 or 3 cars ran over it after it fell off. So, now, on top of having the car fixed, I'm looking at anywhere from $200-$400 for a replacement saddlebag.

 

You're definitely not having a good time of it lately You either have a BIG bike or expensive tastes ($400)!.... is it a hard mount?

 

$200 to $400 for a saddlebag? Perhaps you should have taken your wife instead of the saddlebag? I mean if only costs $400 to get rid of a wife who broke your disco, seems like a fair trade to me
