Went to the car wash yesterday. Had water leaking under the glove box afterwards.
Had a pretty good stream of water coming in to the interior of my D2 yesterday after leaving the car wash. The leak appeared to be just ahead of the glove box (I was driving, so couldn't get a good look at it).
Anyone had this happen? Suggestions?

It must be coming in thru the opening beneath the air intake (plastic cover that runs across the bottom part of the windshield), if you remove that you'll see an opening on the passenger side where "air" should only come in. Mine is all broken so when it rains some water comes in thru there... I also notice it when turning the AC on, water in the blower makes a particular sound... I also put a netting over and prevent leaves to come in thru there so I don't have to clean out the blower for leaves so often... Maybe your air intake is broken too! ...hope it helps! ;-]#

That is what he is talking about. That is where the HVAC gets outside air from. The have a tendency to break like most of the other plastic parts. The screen part that goes the length of the part is where there should be a removable, cleanable filter. Most people buy some foam from Home Depot or Lowes and make their own filter, since the OEM filter is kind of expensive. By the way that plastic piece is around 260.00. If yours is not broken, be very careful if you are removing for inspection.

Anyone found a suitable way to glue it back together??
What kind of "Foam" are you suggesting to replace the incoming air filter assembly??

Yup, that's the part, as well as with comment about being extra careful handling it. With time it takes such a beating from the elements that it breaks just from looking at it. Removing it is fairly easy, you gotta get the wipers out and the piece itself is held by two screws in each opposite end, as well as in the middle. But water shouldn't come in thru that opening if the air intake isn't broken at all or you are not missing the rubber lining between the windshield and the air intake. Again, mine is broken beyond repair, and yes it is a pricey piece of plastic! ;-]#
I've tried to glue it a couple times but it just breaks somewhere else, so it gets annoying; recently was told to use fiber glass, the mesh will help to hold it all better, but I'm just putting money aside to buy a new one, saw it today at $275 new, but have seen it used for $175... ;-]#
