Default wet carpets?!

ok, after our newest rovering adventure i have some VERY wet carpets - think water running out of truck when i opened door (dont worry pics are coming from whole trip).
i want to know what the best way to dry carpet is - i was thinking of just stringing an extension cord out to truck and leaving a space heater in there over night with a window cracked...
i want the carpets dry before they start to mildew.
suggestions?

You will need to suck up the extra water with a shop vac, pull up the carpet and dry the insulation too.
Then dry, the best way to dry them is going to be to park it inside with a torpedo heater pointed at the truck with the doors open.
Not to close, you dont want to peel your paint.

I would suggest a high volume of air, not high heat.. if its very cold where you live you do of course have to make sure the water isnt ice in order for it to evaporate

Pull up both the carpet and the pads drying both with a shop vac and lots of air. Drying only the carpet with out pulling it up will leave lots of water trapped in and under the mat. When you are done, spray everything real well with Lysol or some other spray to help kill the mildew.

Nothing better than the smell of swamp water in your carpet. As long as someone got pictures. Wish I could have been there. Maybe next time

only one rover got stuck. mine. and we had to tow half the jeeps home. ok, just one- but that IS a 50% failure rate.

question: how do you keep that silver rover so CLEAN?! it came home with hardly any dirty and i know you did the same obstacles i did... minus the swamp, of course.

the next time is gonna be presdent's day weekend. all our invited.
