What can stock really do?
My disco is stock with sketch abs that likes to turn itself on and off at the most random and worst times.
I would say I've been able to do minor trail stuff i haven't really done anything to push it to a limit but it made it up a rather slippery steep rock covered hill better than a decked out land cruiser.
Just thought i would make this to see what other have done with a stock disco or while there disco was still stock.

I have street tires that need changing soon but nope i have a 2002 and the TC i don't really know if it works haven't had to use it yet. Just don't have a lot of money to get lifts and a bunch of upgrades right now. tires are do able but i have the 18 inch rims.
Also how can i prevent stalling after coming from deep water that has happened the past 2 times. i assume its because the intake hole is on the bumper? any way to prevent?

I saw sketch ABS thinking it didn't work (Like the three amigos being on), if your TC works its good off road as it sits. When I bought my D2 I went to Lake Mead just outside Las Vegas and went in some deep sand and some fairly steep hills while on mom tires and no lift.
TC (Traction Control) is different then CDL (Center Locking Diff).
The air intake is not by the bumper, rather it is up in the front 1/4 panel. Snorkel if you want to go crazy, but honestly, I've had mine up over the front bumper in deep muddy water and never experienced stalling... something else might be wrong (CKP sensor or something?)
If you do a lot of that water stuff, you might consider extending your axle breather tubes...
Doing things stock, and doing things stock in deep enough water that it stalls your engine are different things in my book.
your stock Disco will take you lots of places... TC (traction control) will get you through most things your street tires will let you. Problem with street tires are the side walls.
Don't be worried about 18" rims, there are plenty of good A/T options in that size (BFG A/T) are my all time favorite all purpose tire.

Im not ever sure if they are on or not the bulbs are out of painted over.... i just have to wait for the 1590 which never shows up? so my test is a hard break to see if i can feel it pulse. i cant seem to find a screw driver long enough to remove the cluster and change the bulbs. im going to test my HDC on my friends hill its rather steep.
For tires im going out saturday and i assume i should deflate them to protect the side walls. i keep them at 28 front an 46 back like it says on the door. How far should i deflate them for rocks and mud
