Default What are the chances?

I just got a 2001 Discovery knowing about a... "What looked to be a leaky oil pan gasket"... and on further evaluation after cleaning the area it is dripping in between the tranny and oil pan?
What do you think the chances are of it being just the oil pan gasket and not a rear main seal?

Not so good. Also valve cover can leak from above, 8mm 12 point slim socket snugs them up about every oil change. A product that is frequently used is the White Shephard Rear Main Seal stop leak, pour in, drive. MAy not be forever,, but could easily move this to a back burner until you eval the rest of the truck. Valley pan gasket can also leak out the back.
