Wow that's almost $10 cheaper than the synthetic blend I was putting in my dodge.

I just bought plugs and wires, I got the ngk g-power, it had a lot of good reviews and beck arnley wire set. tomorrow I will go and get the new fluids for the lr.

Evidentially, the Plug Wires are hard to install, so verify with forum members that the wires you got will suffice so you are not in there again soon. I've seen Magnacore and Kingsborne brands being recommended. 8mm Silicon, no less.

PS: I do "Normal" maintenance and just drive it. I had a Jaguar XJR before this. Same scary reviews. I just maintained it normally and drove it. Yes, repairs can be expensive when they happen, but I've been lucky so far on BOTH British vehicles (knock on my head).

For what it's worth, my wife's first disco was bought at 21k and driven to 120k with no issues. That was prior to my knowledge of this forum. No rebuilt shaft, regular maintenance. Sold because she was selling real estate and gas was getting rough.

The disco we have now was purchased from her folks at 52k and now has 88k. Most costly items: I have put a radiator in it and a front prop shaft. I have also resealed the transfer box and put a seal in it. I had no mechanical experience on cars prior to that and have done all of the work myself aside from the radiator. Total of all parts and labor for radiator spent (also including brakes, oil changes, wiper blades etc) in the 3 years we have owned the truck have totaled $1,586.44. If I took out routine maintenance from my spreadsheet it would probably be around 6-700 over 33 months owned.

Overall that is less than I spent on the last 2 chevrolets I had in repairs, and much less than my VW passat.

You have to remove the intake and everything on top of it to access the coil packs...difficult but not complicated. MUCH easier if you don't have SAI though!
