I installed a new power steering pump toady. It fixed this wine/whistle noise I could hear under the hood when I gave it gas.

I've got a bunch of other parts coming in soon so I'll be posting more soon. I'm replacing the 4 radius arm busing that connect to the frame soon. Ther are 3 per arm and the 2 that connect to the axles looked okay for now, but the ones to the frame had some visual cracking on both front and both rear arms so those 4 are going to be replaced. Also, my watts linkage makes noise when I rock the truck side to side so I'm going to replace all 5 bushing there too.

After reading some horror stories about changing the radius and watts bushings I went out and bought a 20 ton shop press to make the job easy as pie.

If anyone needs a press around the San Antonio area you are more then welcome to come by and use it.

I went to a small, local salvage yard that has had one DII on the lot for the last year and a half at least. In Nov. 2012 I bought the driver's seat from it because the perforated leather in my truck was tearing, plus the brake servo (vac booster).

Today I needed the front passenger seat, for the same reason, plus the right rear, bumper mounted turn signal housing. While I was at it I pulled a few other minor goodies to replace some non-critical items broken on my truck like the lower fan shroud and the driver's side kick panel. But better than that I also got, for spares, a brake light switch and ... the XYZ switch. I've long wanted both those items to carry as spares because along with the CKPS a failure of these items can leave you stranded with little or no warning. I had to pull the XYZ working by touch-only because I couldn't get quite far enough under the truck to be able to see it properly. Getting the switch-proper off by touch was one thing, but getting the connector released by touch-only was an achievement.

Redrover has been very reliable for quite a while now, but I'll feel more secure on road trips with a spare brake light switch and a spare XYZ in the glove box.

kudos to you. I do the same thing. figure out what could leave me stranded and make sure that it doesn't. only walking, I've done is to the nearest most stable structure, to hook up the winch line.

put in a new MAF sensor. holy schnikies! what a difference. posted a couple of weeks ago about occasional sluggish acceleration. well, we found the culprit. now she's much more like a horse bolting than the town drunk shuffling.

What Mass airflow sensor did you use? Did you go aftermarket?

"What Mass airflow sensor did you use? Did you go aftermarket?"

Bosch, from partsgeek. I've ordered parts from them twice and have had excellent experiences with them both times. The Bosch MAF was just over $100, and I'm telling you- for my truck- it has made a massive difference in acceleration and smooth idle. Was getting lean codes for both banks, and already put new O2's in, the MAF really made a huge difference. I'm not kidding when I say starting from a stop she's now a lot like a horse bolting- just takes right off. Was pretty happy with acceleration before, am actually a bit amazed now.
