What did you do with your DII today?
Drained and refilled the differentials. Replaced the plastic fill plugs (which were in great shape) with brass plugs. I found that 13/16 fit the plastic fill plugs perfectly. However, 13/16 was a pinch too small for the brass plugs--ended up using a 7/8.
Also drained the transmission and replaced the filter. One of the six clamps holding the tran pan on was broken. Need to source a replacement.
Was planning on also doing the t/case while I was down there. However, I could not get a 1/2" drive into that darn fill plug.
Any tips on getting at that fill plug for the t/case?
Remaining on my to-do list:
T/case fluid change
Coolant flush and new thermostat
Replace Power steering pump
02 Sensor

A couple questions from the work:
1. Any tips on getting at that fill plug for the t/case?
2. When refilling the transmission, I followed these steps. With vehicle off, fill to spill over. Start vehicle and fill to spill over. Shift through all of the gears and check level/fill to spill over. Before turning off the vehicle, replace fill plug. Did I do that right? The first time through, I turned off the car with the fill plug out and paid dearly for it (so much trans fluid on the garage floor!).

I found what may be my best craigslist buy to date. While doing my daily Land Rover search on craigslist I ran across this ad from a guy in Three Rivers selling an 03' for ($1). I clicked on the ad knowing that the car wasn't really one dollar, just to see what he wanted. It turns out that he wanted $3K OBO (not bad), but what really caught my eye is what else he was selling.
He had an unused Voyager Roof Rack still in the box and wrapped up for $500. I almost called him at 6am to make sure nobody else got it, but I waited until 8am and had my new roof rack on and installed my noon. It has 4 light mounts up front and 2 in the rear.
Here is the ad and some pictures. 2003 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY CLEAN!!!

Wow nice find I'm jealous!
EXACTLY what I was thinking. I quickly found out that our front bumper seems to be in high demand as I had about a dozen people contact me for it; now it is craigslist, so some flaked out on me, but I had a few repair shops contact me too (one of which ended up buying it). I know I could have gotten a little more for it, seeing how expensive these are new but I had a price in mind and was happy to get the $300 cash I was asking for; and of course to get it out of my garage. I'm also selling the fog lights in a separate ad, so hopefully I'll soon have a few more dollars to add to my bumper fund.

wow, nice score for sure! Just last month I bought some brand new, never installed Rovertym rock sliders w/ square nerf bars off craigslist for $350 (think they retail for well over $800); a deal that I just couldn't pass up. of course they're still sitting on the garage floor.

Damn Jarred been your lucky week. Free brush guard and a super cheap roof rack....well done my friend! Did you get your mounting hardware ordered for the brush guard? I found the wing pieces. The ones that bolt on the side of the bumper for vibration. What the two silver hex screws go to. If you didn't order those, PM me your address and I will mail them to you.
I went to look at a parts car that had the brush guard brackets still on but they were bent from a front end accident. I'm going to just order them new from the link you sent me (BPUTAH). I will PM you my address if you wouldn't mind sending out those 2 side vibration pieces.
Refitted the freshly done exhaust manifolds sans 1 stud and nut. not a peep. Anywhere. I just wish there was a quieter way to cool the damn thing.. I'd like to know that my rover is more than a loud *** fan that never shuts the hell up.
