New battery, water pump, front crank seal, serpentine belt...Now onto the other stuff!!

 

Looked at her and apologized. Took the Mercedes to work. Promised her a bath this weekend.

 

Cursed the fact that I got a cheaper remanufactured starter from where I work 10 days ago to replace the original with 140k miles when I went to go to work this morning.

Good thing I can return it warranty, and got a new one ordered from Zach at Rovers North.

 

Well, yesterday actually. Installed my new Proline rear bumper. Then I went for a mountain bike ride.

 

Installed the new Proline starter from Rovers North. I had a friend topside and I was underneath. Since we had to do this last week with a chain store starter, it only took us about 15 minutes this time.

Now starts beautifully, and doesn't sound like a freaking Honda starting, like it did last week before the reman failed.



Edit: Just now went out and started it a few times, because I now can!!

Pulled my neighbors Saturn out of a snow bank. The wild streets of Chicago can't stop me.

 

She started up in 0 degree weather, but the alternator was really noisy. Sounds like a bearing in front is going. Still under warranty so I contacted the seller on eBay. Hopefully, will have a new one soon.

 

Started her up and went down to San Diego Harbor. Typical BEAUTIFUL day, headed out on the water to do some whale watching. Saw many grey whales and one incredible humpback!!!!

While driving home "service engine soon" light came on........

 

Wifey surprised me for Valentine's Day. Told me she got a flat and had it towed to a tire shop. Then before dinner we took a ride over to pick it up. Interior, exterior, undercarriage and engine. And he restored the headlights. It looks spectacular.

Granted, it still just looks like a Rover, but I had to share...
