Replaced serpentine belt. I'd changed the tensioner and lubed the other idler pulleys, but forgot to get a belt. All good now.

Got the new hella optilux h1 100 watt fog light bulbs in and the h4 80/100 watt headlamp bulbs in. Now awaiting high temp connectors. Debating on adding the square recessed led lights to the rear bumper for better visibility backing up. Anybody done that mod yet?

Out with the old and in with the new 180 Soft Spting thermostat. Also flushed the DexCool out and replaced with green coolant + Purple ice. Was seeing temps in the 220's during idle in traffic, now it stays under 195 and 188 in motion.

I also found a clogged port in the old thermostat. Probably a big reason for the high temps. (Far right hole)

I finally broke 300 and got 312 miles on a tank of gas at 13.3MPG from Myrtle (Disco 2 avg is 12MPG).
I don't know what I did but I'm going to keep on doing it.

I usually get about 260 to 280 miles per tank.
It's the Fuel app for iPhone.

Are you guys taking into consideration...any tire size change?

My actual miles driven, according to odometer, dropped 11 miles for ever 100 miles driven, when I went from 255/65' (roughly 28 inches dia.) to 265/75's (roughly 31 inches dia.).

The real *itch was...it made work in the big city...even closer...yuck...thinking of going with 215/55's to get farther away...lol.

Back on topic...

Picked up a 950/1150CCA battery for the 01, which was studs instead of post...so, I'm changing the terminal ends, too.

Brian.

So today I had the luck of my drive shaft breaking on me (again) only this time it really did a number on me. Which brings me to this.
::: ISO transmission for a 2001 Discovery II SE rebuilt or known to be working at time of pull. In a tight spot my baby is my work vehicle, no truck, no living. Thanks in advance. Close to Ocala and able to deliver a HUGE plus. :::
If this isn't the place for this just let me know thanks everyone!

Recently confirmed, Tire size can add as much as 10% error in miles driven as read by odometer.

Crazy as it may seem, phone mpg apps based on gps or cell towers are more accurate than your odometer and your speedometer even if you are 100% stock tire size.

A 10% difference in 300 miles driven is 30 miles. Two of your 25 gallons of fuel on a good day. That kind of error will effect your mpg math significantly.
