Two weeks ago I increased the turning radius of Tricky Dick by getting a couple bolts and nuts at the local hardware store and swapping out the stock bump stop bolts. I set it up so I can adjust as needed, incase there was rubbing.

So far it has been fantastic! No rubbing and I have significantly more maneuverability

I am running 18" rims with 255/55/18 tires

Yeah I covered this a while back with the custom ones I installed on my Kalahari. 16inch & 18inch D2’s come with different turn stop lengths. It’s honestly a mixed 50/50 shot on what your D2 actually ships with, but normally 16inch equipped D2’s had shorter turn stops vs 18inch equipped D2’s.

You just need like above a nut/bolt or like what I’ve done in the past a shorter bolt with washers so you can adjust it via the washers. My Kalahari is using a bolt and a collar that is exactly the size I needed for my turning radius to be spot on without any rubbing.

Yes!! I didn't measure the new turning radius but, I definitely got a few feet back by reducing the bump stop by 1/4"

Before, I had to do a three point turn when I backed out of my garage, now I simply back out with the wheel turned to the right and go forward.

I made it so I could adjust, if I ever decide to go with a wider or taller tire.

This thread is a great idea. Thanks for posting! Also, would be even better with before/after pics of bump stops and different turning radiuses...

I'm officially jealous. Great look. Also, that's a really good looking lift height. 2 inches??

I cleaned out the A/C blower fan cage today. Holy smokes what a difference when I reinstalled it without being stuffed full of leaves!

Just pulled mine out, they measured right about 7/8" -- these are probably for the 18's, right?
