Default Long time away..

Sorry I've been gone for years. Long story.
Not today, but several months ago: Ran into one of those rebar reinforced concrete parking lot posts at about 15mph. Came to a quick stop. Driver's door wouldn't open fully. Coolant all over the ground, bumper pieces all over. Had it towed to work where I removed the outer fender and pried the inner fender off the tire so it could at least move.
Luckily, I had a donor Disco in my driveway 120 miles away (Long story of a divorce and living with my father while wife lives in my home).
Towed my Disco to my old hometown, and the donor towed to a friend's shop where I began to drill out spot welds to remove the left inner fender and front bulkhead. Roughly 74 spot welds per vehicle. Three days later and I had a complete vehicle. Paint will come eventually, and also the brushguard after I mend it.

Nothing I can't fix...

74 spot welds separated.

Donor Disco

Done!

Nice work! Sorry to hear of your troubles, She got the palace at least you got the Landy! Best attempt at humor for something that just isnt funny. Hope things smooth out for ya!

I too have been busy today. Finally got to the bottom of my misfires. Seems engines want to suck air only into their cylinders. Good news is the head and block are straight with no corrosion so a clean up and new gaskets and we are good to go. You can see by the pics the valve covers were leaking badly and I found the intake loose so it just sucked the oil straight in.There were also several water leaks with hoses on the intake bleeding into the valley so that where the water came from to clean the pistons. There is also several of the valves with build up leaking by.

See the oil in the intake ports? been there a while!

Thanks! Really my first go at major bodywork. I was quite surprised at how well it turned out. All body lines are straight and true.

It took about 2 hours to get the factory bumper off and all of 3 minutes to install the new bumper including opening the box... Also, installed some LED light, and did the silicone to make them actually waterproof. Still waiting on the winch to arrive, so that will be next!

I like these better than the plastic ones I have. Where did you get them and what are the part numbers? Looks great!
