Been spending too much time and money on my Disco I bought about 7 months ago. Spent the first few months driving, catching up maintenance and building the baseline. Now starting to add the more fun things....

Turned on my low beams and dash backlight/shifter lights/right headlight and right rear taillight all were out.

Turns out there's a single fuse that is responsible for all of that? 1 10A fuse later and we have light. Finger's crossed it doesn't keep blowing.

 

moved the antennae for the sirius satellite radio to the roof from the dash (it was getting too much inteference)
the drip rails make it hard to loop a wire. I went out through the roof plug over the cargo area
cut one corner off the plug so it would not pinch, also used a rubber washer inside with a slot cut so the nut would not crush the tiny wire, cleaned all surfaces and sealed with heavy weight RTV

 

Is this the Tuff Rok kit? How's the build quality? Seem sturdy and durable? Easy to install? Do the housings require painting? (I worry about UV stability.)

 

It is the Tuff Rok kit. The quality of the LED head lamp is good. The black plastic surround is pretty flexible plastic. The biggest issue I had is that the system if you want the DRL and flashing yellow turn signals is not plug and play. Have to do some significant rewiring and putting new connectors, etc.

The instructions are silent on most and the way it attached to the car does not reuse the turn signal clips. It really should to be much higher quality. Kit also came with 10 bolts but instructions only mention two...the rest I figure should be used to support the side and redid the upper attachments with Rivnuts to make it really positive connection. Took some significant trimming to get them to fit right around the bumper so they were not twisted.

That being said, I got a great deal on the kit and it really looks much better than stock. Performance at night is pretty good and significantly better than the 1 Lumen headlights these came with.

And just as I thought, now I just get to drive.....my head gasket starts leaking...

Thanks juke! Dropped by my tire shop today. Good thing I had an adapter plate for full size spare on hand. Also seems like an alignment isn’t going to happen. Tire rods are stuck or rusted in place.



But these numbers aren’t terrible. Even with the steering wheel at around 10 o’clock being straight.

 

Got the wheels powder coated, I think they came out pretty well. The shop, Boneheadz did a really nice job, turned them in a few days. New 265-75-16 tires, a slight bit of rubbing on the right front, need to sort that out. But i think they fill the arches well. A question for the board, there is a large quantity of balancing weights on the wheels, is that normal or acceptable? Should I go back to have them re-done? They drive amazingly well, quiet, smooth.

 

I would have them do the stick on weights inside the well just to clean up the look a little...not uncommon to have extra weight on bigger tires but none of mine do/have (2 sets of 265 ko2s and one set of 285 grabber x3s)
