What length did you use? I am thinking about replacing mine with silicon hose. I figure that it should last forever. I already had an issue where it came off once and left me stranded.

 

cut a corner to close, to a half cut down cedar. the bumper pushed a 2" diameter branch up an into my fender. now I have a hole and a new dent. the best part is that I was not out having fun, but in my own driveway.. the upside = my 2 year old twins were the only witnesses. that saved a little embarrassment.

 

Went out and made it look pretty.

Swapped to a 180* Thermostat and flushed out dexcool!

 

I will once we get set to work on the actual swap. We have the old Merc sitting on the street for the time being, we will drive her up to the shop and pull the engine and then get it rebuilt/oil pan mods/fresh coat of paint/new turbo done up. Once that's done I'll begin a build thread as that's when the swap begin in earnest. Also I will be making the adapter plate up with dimensions, and if there is enough interest I'll be selling copies of the plate.



Thats the engine as she sits today. Runs great! Only 129K on it, has been sitting on and off for the last few months due to being past due on registration, but since she is all parts I don't much car about the registration! Already have a buyer some of the body panels and another for the tranny so I am back to just about 200 dollars into my budget.
