Locking CDL will one thing that will make a huge difference. You can manually lock it by climbing under the truck with a 10mm open wrench, or you can get a D1 shifter linkage and jimmy rig it or get an 04 linkage and bolt right in.

Get your CDL working and you are good to go. Might want to invest in a winch or make sure you've got a friend with one.

If the winch is too much a highlift jack will get you un stuck with some work. The CDL shift from a D1 is an awesome way to go and is very common. It will require some work on your part though. You can get one from the salvage yard for probably $40 (it's around what I paid) ... if there aren't any salvage yards near you send me a message and I can ship one too you.

For the install, you will need to remove your center console and remove the existing Hi/Low shifter, cut the plate and install the "new" shifting assembly.
