Default What a freakin mess....

Well, the high pressure hose from the power steering pump to the gearbox split this morning covering everything in the engine bay with shiny red fluid. Now I am faced with having to buy the hose from the stealer for $119 instead of getting all 3 from AB for $109. This crap always happens on a Friday. If you have over 100k on your Disco and the hoses are factory, you best spend the money and replace them before your in a pickle like me.

I replaced all of mine right after doing the pump. My hoses "looked good". When I took off the return line, the end almost crumbled in my hand. Good tip.

Im curious,

Why would a steering hose go to the gearbox ??

or do you mean the steering "gearbox" ?

Yea, the steering gearbox, just assumed ya'll would know. Not wanting to spend $119 for just one hose and needing back on the road today I found one at a local recycler for $7 that looked really good. She is back together and I am headed to the car wash. The hose I took off was dry rotted in one of the curves. The recycler had 3 DI's with lots of good parts. I will be going back. I think I will get a seering gearbox from the DI that looked the best and see how it works. They only want $125 for it. I was going to replace the seals on mine but the Pittman arm would not come off even with a puller and impact wrench.
