Sorry that I asked a basic question...
Unfortunetly when I bought my disco the guy didnt have the owners manual at the time. So I was stumped...my bad.
I'm new here, up until now everything I've owned has been a honda.

If all you have had is a Honda, you may be asking a few more. Welcome to the forum... oh, if you go to roverrenovations.com they will send you a Rave cd for free. Only free thing about an LR. It has the workshop manual and owners manual on it. Good Stuff.....
Have you figured out your CDL yet?

RE: What Fuel to run in 97 Disco?
I just wanted to make sure he knew so he wouldn't use it wrong or could use it to the fullest potential. No one told me how to use it. First year I tried it I thought something was wrong. I couldn't see why one wheel was spinning in low if it was a 4WD...
Felt really dumb when I figured it out....

I was really just messing with you, I don't care if people ask the same question 1k times. Cars can be unpredictable and you're smart for asking if you didn't know.

The little shifter in front of your gear shift. CDL= Center Differential Lock
Normally, your transfer case acts like a differential. The front and rear driveshafts can turn independantly if you have wheels off the ground or really poor traction. Moving the lever to the left locks the case giving equal power to the front and rear. Moving it forward changesthe ratio and gives you 3 gears ratioed way down. In high and locked (to the left and towards you)you can drive up to 45 on slippery surfaces. Don't drive on dry pavement muchwith it locked, it will tear things up. I kept mine locked last winter when there was snow on the ground and it worked great.
Shift it every once in a while to make sure it is still working.
PS nice rig. Nice to see more 97's out there...

no prob. we have all been there.
Do you have a 7 passenger? If so, you've got the twin sister of mine.
Oh yeah, and if you want, you can get new stickers on E-bay for the hood and sides for about $50. There is somewhere you can get the raised letter emblems like the newer models, but can't remember where...
