hi chaps …...new and need help please

as I was driving my ( y reg disco 2 td5 manual ) and my negative cable came off the battery, I know im still hitting my head off the wall for not checking it was tight.
anyway the motor drove fine with no lights on the dash at all, for about 8-10 miles I got to where I was going turned it off and it even locked with the key when pressed, all seamed well.
20 mins later I returned to the motor and got nothing at all, key flashes when pressed ( tried another battery in it as well ) , im only getting dash lights when trying to start it, no cranking ect and the immobiliser lights going out as normal
I had it recovered home and my code reader wont even connect to the motor at all, I think ive fried something
....................................any ideas chaps what's damaged or have I really killed it or will it live again...…………….., cheers

 

how is the charge on the battery?

 

hi battery is ok loads of power in it, 11.6v at the moment just standing, I think its a deeper problem as disco 2 are very voltage sensitive and no negative lead on may have fried something

 

@lel 11.6 is a no good, your battery you should have almost 13 volts. My Disco 2 a V8 will crank at 11.6 (barely) but I would get the M&S lights, diesels take more to turn over. Get a good battery well charged, you may have a blown fuse or 2 as well

 

Charge the battery. If you were driving for any length of time, with no ground, the alternator would not be charging te battery. Once fully charged, 12.6 volts, give it a try. If it does not crank over easily or goes dead quickly...might be time for a new battery. Any parts store can load test the battery.

 

I agree with the above, your battery is not charged enough to power your Landy. Charge it up and try again.
