What the heck happened.....so many codes...
Ok super long story short...
Bought 04 Disco SE with 126k miles with slipped liner/cracked liner wall and I've rebuilt the entire engine since. I have been driving on the new engine for 7 months with no issues at all. I get SAI codes, but I removed the SAI system.
Complete engine rebuild. ARP head studs, Ground crank, all near bearings top to bottom, new seals, new piston rigs, new Bosch Sparks, NGK spark wires, new new new everything. Got a 70k block and pinned the liners. 70K heads and rebuilt them. Etc etc, more detaisl if needed. Car started up like a champ on the 2nd try and has given me nearly 0.0 issues.
Drove it all winter, in Alaska, and now as it starts to warm up....WTFragnog.
So, over the last month I get a ton of codes out of nowhere. O2 codes.
So, I put in all new O2 sensors, all 4. Bosch. Cleaned the MAF, Maf cleaned the idle control valve. Cracked open the top and bottom of the engine and checked all the torque on the head studs, crank etc. Buttoned her up for the long haul.
SO THE PROBLEM: Now she is throwing a mountain of codes and every day they seem to grow. She drives down the highway like a dream, she idles like a junker.
P0130 - P0150 - P0174 - P1174 - P0171
Pending= P1129 - P0126 - P1412(I did remove the SAI) P1171.
(Ultraguage)
I need help....

I'll go.
Check the ground strap behind drivers side head, head to firewall. This caused my code a palooza.
Also, I have been in contact with 2 discos with re occurring O2 codes, even after replacing sensors.
In both cases the pins on the ECU were bad. I suck at electrical, but was explained that you check with a multi meter... for what and how is your burden.

I'm going to be honest here....I don't think I even have that strap. Keeping in mind, when I bought this car, it had been striped down to the top of the block, and all the parts were in the trunk. It all went back together all right, but I do not recall this grounding strap.
Anyone have some pictures for reference?
Ok, on to today. Reaaally weird.
So I get up, start up the car, and clear out all of the codes. I then drive 20+ miles into work, 70mph on the highway, then a few miles stop and go in Anchorage. Idled fine, drove great, NO CODES.
I know these things don't just go away...

I'm 95% sure I don't have that.
I think I even know exactly what bolt it goes to as I have always wondered what went there.
Wondering where it bolts to the head....and I can imagine I can get a general grounding strap at any local auto parts store.

The head has 4 threaded holes at the back. Top inside hole should have the wiring harness strap bolted in, Bottom inside has a forked bracket that the harness runs though.
Now you have two more towards the outside, top one usually has the strap.
Im sure any heavy gauge cable would work, its only like 6" long. Welding cable is best as it has the finest/most strands.
OEM should be available.

Now I'm wondering how many thing are/aren't grounded right...
I had to puzzle piece my engine back together with the Rave, and wondering what's missing. Things like worn out and frayed grounding strips were prolly thrown away by the prior owner and I didn't have them on hand for the rebuild.
I'm going to have to take a close look at my engine bay and see if the grounds mentioned are even there.
