What are the most common faults
I had one explode, took out all the hoses and shrouds. Went home and checked our other disco and found cracks in the fan - on its way out. Converted both to electric and have not looked back - much quieter, better fuel economy, cooler in traffic, no risk of exploding.
Obviously electric fans are well tried and tested but they make me nervous in case the motor fails and leaves me stuck in the middle of nowhere. I suppose separate twin fans is the answer.

Thanks ;-)
[QUOTE=OffroadFrance;527488]I don't know whether it's possible or even been tried but fitting the TD5 fan which seems more robust and I've never heard of any 'exploding' fatigue issues with it. I haven't a clue whether it would fit easily onto the Rover V8 engine.
I was personally present in my friends D2 Td5 when the viscous coupling went - Boom. It damaged the rad, and was not cheap to repair. He replaced the fan while he was at it, but the repairs were not cheap.

Never heard of one in 13 years of ownership but if you're so sure don't fit one ..................... simples.

) the switch is repairable by stripping and cleaning and replacing the alu rivets with M5 screws. This switch normally fails at circa 100k miles or so.I've never had a problem with the brake light switch or the detents on the doors apart from replacing the door actuators due to electronic (fob) failure so it's difficult to comment.
Thank you.
Anybody else have a serious problem with sealing air and or water out? When I get going over 30mph the air rushing in over the windows, (I'm pretty sure thats the culprit), is almost unbearably loud. I've adjusted the doors to close tighter, I'm afraid I may have to replace all of the seals, if I did that is there a better option than factory?
