They probably wanted to replace the entire unit. Land Rover stealerships.

Hope these links help. It takes 15-20 mins to change the cooler just 4 bolts but longer to bleed the coolant system. The kit of O rings is cheap to buy and to refurb and reinstall including refilling and bleeding the coolant it'll take about 3-4 hours tops.

Ripoffs are ripoffs and they are all around us for the unsuspecting but the main LR dealerships everywhere have made it into a 'qualification artform' for LR owners.
