Default What plastic material to rewrap engine harness wiring?

I'm down to my cylinder heads and am noticing the plastic piping that wraps all the wiring is pretty much crumbling to pieces. I would like to rewrap it just to make it neat and clean. I know the engine runs hot so I don't want to use regular electrical tape. Is there any tape product that anyone can recommend?

The tape you want to use is called friction tape. It is a fiber-mesh type tape that adheres to itself. I think I got my last roll at Lowe's. It should be located with the electrical tape. It probably runs $10 a roll if I remember correctly.

Or go to an auto parts store and buy some of the original wire harness plastic cover.

The hard plastic with the slit is convoluted loom. The standard black is rated at 200 degrees F. A high temp version, rated at 300 degrees F, is also available. It has a gray stripe running along the length.

If you want to take it up a notch, look at something like this:
