WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH A BUSTED BUMPER?
So, as you all know spring is fast approaching and the snow is melting from the trails in MT.Well, long story short, went toolin around in my 99 DiscoII and I busted out my front passenger side factory fog light in the lower front bumper (it's black, not body colored). Now the fog light is gone and so is the lower plastic surround on that side as well. Thus raising the question, what to do?
So I ask all who care what they would do in this situation.
I would like to replace the front bumper with anotherof the same but am not averse to looking into a stout aftermarket version if possible/cheaper than a factory unit. I am okay w/ getting another stock unit if I could find one for cheaper than factory price. (I have checked the usual sites for bumpers/foglights and they all seem to be stock units.)
As noted earlier, I am not really looking to put aftermarket parts on it, but they are many times, much cheaper and possibly more useful. If anyone has faced this issue please let me know where to look.. I looked thru most all of the posts regarding front bumpers and foglights but I need someone with insight to tell me what and where to get the cheapest/easiest parts to get the disco looking not so horrible.
Thanks Guys,

Thanks Guys,
Also keep an eye on roverlandparts.com They are a salvage yard and sometimes have stuff like that some up. I have heard nothing but good things about them. You just have to get lucky, sometimes there will be a couple other times there will be nothing.
I know lots of people just modify their front bumper by trimming the whole area where the fog lights are. Not sure if you'll find it here, but discoweb.com has a write-up on this subject in the tech section. Looks pretty good and most importantly....no rusting of a metal bumper.
I agree with Darover, try trimming your bumper and sell the other fog light. I'm considering pulling my fog lights off before they get crushed too. If you go wheelin in the same area there's as much a chance of breaking the other light and that side of the bumper. Just don't trim too short or the washer fluid bottle will be showing, which you could then paint black.
Yeah, that is a cheap option for sure, but I think I'll look around for a replacement first. I have put a few requests out there but to no avail, so if anyone has any front bumpers lying around let me know. Or if anyone has any other ideas that would be much appreciated.
Thanks all.
Thanks all.
