I see your user name is Diesel Gypsy. Is your Discovery a diesel? If so, UltraGauge does not support the TD5 engine. If it is petrol, have you confirmed it is OBDII Certified? I expect the answer is yes, but I don't know how Discovery IIs were configured for sale in Canada.

As for which UltraGauge to choose, a careful review of the product descriptions at the UltraGauge website shows the MX would not be compatible with a DII. The means the EX Plus v1.4 is what you'd want. As for buying in Canada, the UltraGauge product pages have links for international shipping information.

And finally, transmission temp is not supported by the DII OBDII system.

No, mine is a 4.0L V8 gas unfortunately!

I'm "Diesel Gypsy" because I was a long haul trucker for most of my life.

In Canada all vehicles built from '96 on were OBDll. I don't know about certified. Are there different OBDll levels?

Usually it is much easier and much faster to order something (even if it's made in USA) from a Canadian supplier than ordering from south of the border and waiting for it to arrive and pay all the extra border charges. If I order something from Amazon.ca which originates from somewhere in the US (for example) I will receive it in about a week. If I order the same thing from Amazon.com from the same supplier it will probably take a week to two weeks MORE to arrive and likely more $$. And ordering directly from a US company, they always like to ship with UPS. But UPS in Canada SUCKS! Might be ok down there but they sure don't compete well here! So, just a lot easier to find a Canadian supplier, if possible.
Ok, rant over. lol

I had the UltraGauge Blue (usb dongle w/app) until they stopped supporting iOS so I got a ScanGauge II and mounted it with a single velcro strip behind the steering wheel, data updates quickly and the black text on green matches the D2 interior gauges.

I found this out the hard way this week. A customer ordered an inline thermostat and my shipping software showed UPS ground to be the lowest cost shipping at about 20 bucks but after the shipment arrived in Canada UPS required him to pay another $63 Canadian to deliver the package. I called UPS to find out what the charges were for and they told me that they charge a $30 Customs clearance fee for any ground package and there are additional fees and taxes on top of that. FedEx has a new service called International connect Plus that cost a few bucks more at about $30 to ship a 2 lb package from Virginia to Canada but includes all the fees. You Canadians are getting raked over the coals by your government. I hope the free healthcare is worth it.

@Extinct It wasn't Canada who is gouging us, it's UPS who is charging the fees.
But if Trump goes through with the 25% tariffs that he is threatening, that will cost you guys big time!
And then Canada says we will charge equal tariffs on American goods so that will cost us big time as well!
Let's hope somebody regains some common sense soon so we can avoid all this foolishness!
Lots of American stuff I still want to buy!

@Extinct Yea that is all UPS the duty on most parts is maybe 6 dollars then, which may or may no be charged, provincial taxes called it 13.00 on a hundred. Every custom clearance UPS does is automated so they just screw over the end user.

I ordered my new Lucas starter from the UK, 100.00 CDN for shipping, all taxes and duties in shipped to Vancouver at my door in 5 days. UPS and FEDEX are just hiway robbery

Golden Rover also now has a mount for the ScanGuage II as well, similar to their UltraGauge mount.
