Default I cut into the wire today

I reinstalled my rebuild drive lines today and after that I investigated the cut wire behind the driver side wheel. The wire has two smaller white wires inside the black housing. Presently the three amigos lights are on so I stripped the wires and reattached them to see what it would do. Nothing seemed to be different. Can anyone tell me what wire that is? Do the two smaller white wires have a positive and negative? Thanks,

I'm sorry and not trying to be a huge jerk, but with you using all of the wrong terminology it is really really hard to try and help you.
You installed your rebuilt what today?
And before you said it was a broken hose and now it is a broken wire?
So which is it?

Default Its a wire

Sorry
It looked like a small hose but after cutting into it, it is a wire. It is black and after cutting some of the covering off I found two small white wires in it. I'm guessing it is associated with some type of sensor??

Default Wire

It attaches behind the wheel and goes into the wheel well. It looks like it goes into the engine compartment but I couldn't see where it ends up. It's about the thickness of a 16 penny nail. I have been looking in the workshop manual and haven't been able to find this wire but wonder if it has something to do with ABS.

If it attaches to the wheel it is a ABS sensor wire.
If your 3 Amigos are on just connecting the broken wires will not clear the codes, you need a special scanner for that.

Default Thanks so much

Thanks so much.
So if I reconnect this (or better yet replace it) and have my mechanic read and/or clear the codes, do you think the lights will be off (assuming there isn't some other issue?

Yes, except unless he is a Rover tech he cannot clear the ABS fault codes, you need a Rover scanner.
There is a guy on the forum that rents one to people.
You PayPal him a deposit, he sends it to you, you send it back, he refunds you your money less the rental fee.
