I needed this thread. Reviving it saved me from having to start a new thread for this question so thank you!

I purchased 3 GKN heady duty ujoints and now I'm trying to find the moog 617 centering ball kit.

Double Cardan CV Ball Kit Moog 617 | eBay

I found this on eBay but it's saying it isn't compatible with the land rover. I understand how easily this feature on eBay can be wrong but I just wanted to make sure that if it says "617" it's the right one.

Y'all according to the thread and after looking at an Amazon listing it looks like 617 is the correct part number. I am too lazy and I don't have a press get the u joints and get the center ball in place. Best of luck. I bet it would be helpful to take pictures for others to see. I didn't see pic by picking how to for this. Or a video lol

Yes, the 617 centering ball is correct. When I rebuilt my shaft, I don't recall anyone listing joints even by application. It was from this forum that I found the correct part numbers.

I second that.

I did the Lucky8 one this summer. Very happy with it.
I thought the old one was fine, but I can feel some crunchiness in one of the bearings. Glad I replaced it.
I ended up paying a mechanic to do it. Just couldn't get the bolts off myself. If I had a lift… but not laying under it.
Little pisssed to see in this thread that shipping to an island in the middle of the Pacific is cheaper than 300km overland (and into Canada). I ended up paying customs and more shipping then the site let on (not blaming).
In retrospect, I should have just driven to Buffalo.
