I truly prefer the naked WW look on the D2 and thought of removing the "trim" myself. I took the time to take a look and realized these are functional not merely molding for appearance sake as on some vehicles. Friend that just picked up a 80's model of a diesel Trooper commented on mine the other day saying his were only decorative and a PIA getting the old glue off.

Likely not an issue for most unless you live in the salt belt or intend to keep the D2 alive for another 14-18 years.
