So, clean it then get back to us.

 

Ok, so removed tb hose to valve cover and intake hose and tb is extremely clean. Drove truck for about 10 mins before it started doing the idle drop but after 20 or so mins never stalled but came very close. Noticed the slap or clank noise again when letting off the gas peddle. When coasting I can push the gas peddle and let go and get the clank sound somewhere by the tranny.

Do have the three amigos now. They kinda popped up once in a while but now the three lights are on constant.

Also have a q on the tranny fluid. When I removed the old motor alot of fluid came from the tranny so when the new motor was in and running I attempted to top off the tranny fluid but when the truck was on a flat service and removed the bolt to top it off fluid started coming out so I reinstalled the bolt and never refilled it. 1. How could the fluid be so overfilled in the tranny and 2. Was it trannt fluid that came from the tranny when I pulled the motor? (cause it was alot of fluid)

If your cell phone can record, when the clank comes, hold the cell phone to the plastic or maybe even the top of the H/L shifter and try to capture the sound.

Maybe you can put it on youtube so we can hear it.

I had to tighten up the tb a bit to keep it somewhat steady but can feel a big lag when getting off the gas still. Almost like the breaks are being applied a bit.

 

I have the same problem but it does not die in neutral. It is worse in low range.

 

Did this ever get figured out? My disco’s having the exact same issue as described from the idle and stalling to the sounds. Have several codes but they were there before the issue began.
