Default Where is Oil Separator on 2003 Disco 4.6 V8?

In the Rave manual covering my 2003 Disco 4.6 it seems to show the oil separator as residing in the metal nipple that sticks up out of the RH valve cover and not physically residing in the RH breather hose like the older Discos. If so, how do I get at it to clean it? I've tried to twist off the nipple from the valve cover with vice grips but it doesn't budge. Has anybody verified that this is where the oil separator is on the 03-04 Discos?

its underneath the nipple on the passenger side valve cover.

you don't clean it you replace it. best bet is to drill a pilot hole and then remove it and stick it in a vise and drill out the rest and restall it. if you drill it in the valve cover all the crap goes into the engine. bad idea.

Wow. Thanks. Seems like a lot of work for something that needs routine maintenance. Wonder why they changed it from the earlier models where you could just pull it out of the hose?
