Default While getting a HG replaced any other repairs I should consider?

I have a 2002 Discovery with about 85k on it.

I plan on having the head gasket replaced shortly and was wondering if there are any other items that should be considered or that historically may fail soon.

The dealer indicated that the head gasket was leaking during a pressure test a while ago. Recently, the crank sensor failed, apparently due to the head gasket leak. The leak doesn't reach the garage floor, or hasn't affected engine temps or coolant levels, so I believe it is relatively minor and external. But I think its probably about time to have it done.

Just wondering if there are other items such as water pump etc. that should be replaced while the truck is being serviced.

Thanks.

If you haven't upgraded your plug wires to magnecor's, this is a good time to do it. They'll already have everything off, so no labor charge. Usually this is billed at about 3.5 hours for the job alone. Otherwise any lines or vacuum hoses that need replaced.

Yes, I was intending to do the plug and wires because I thought it might be a good time to do it. Thanks for reminding me about the hoses, though.

Is the dealer doing the job, if so what is the estimate, they always over charge.
