Default White Smoke?

My possessed 03' Discovery is acting up again. After quite a bit of work (O2 sensors, valve cover gasket, MFA sensor, filters, crank shaft sensor) I thought it was over. Its not. Now I have puffs of white smoke from my exhaust that smells like gas.
No temp spikes or coolant loss but I have two engine codes that pertain to a bad MFA sensor. Two separate issues or both caused by the MFA? Anyone?

87,000 Miles on it. Dipstick looked good (no mustard) but I am a little overdue for an oil change. I just bought 10 quarts of Rotella 10W40 and plan to change it this weekend. This white smoke has got me though....I don't seem to be losing oil or coolant! ???

The two engine codes are 4th gear ratio and MFA Sensor....as I understand it the 4th gear ratio is also indicative of a bad MFA Sensor.

Default Don't be cheap on the MAF...

MGibbs,

This is one part on our "magnificent beast of a truck" that you cannot be cheap with...you must buy the genuine Bosch MAF sensor. Do you remember what brand you installed?

Yes, unfortunately I know that now ! I just sprang for an expensive Bosch from Atlantic. I was just wondering if this (the Mass Flow Air) would cause the white exhaust? Thanks !

what type of air filter are you running? paper or K&N style? does it smoke after the truck is warm? does it smell sweet?

Running a paper filter. The exhaust smells like gas...not sweet smelling coolant. Just finished changing the oil a few minutes ago and it was 5.75 qts drained. Doesnt seem to be losing much oil. Its been smoking while running...not a ton but enough to cause investigation. Thanks for any help...
